Hello there star-shines, and I miss you here: Welcome! Was the Authorized King James Version of 1611 of the Holy Bible in English, mistaken or mistranslated about the word "Easter" instead of "Passover" at "The Acts of the Apostles" Chapter 12 verse 4 (primary scripture above)? Why was it called "authorized" then? Hmmm... Let us see now; come on...
The Acts 12.4: "Pascha" - Did the King James Bible mistranslate when it translated the Greek word "Pascha" to the word "Easter" instead of "Passover?"
No. The A.V. (Authorized Version/ Authorized King James Version) is perfectly accurate with the translation of the Greek word "Pascha" to "Easter" instead of "Passover" used by almost all the rest of the other Bible versions. Again, "No;" the A.V. was not mistaken; They did not mistranslate. Amen.
How come? Good question! LOL!

Now, believe me in the grace, that we always have to see most of the Holy Bible (if not all) "contextually" and not "selfishly " of which many have turned into proud heretics.... (Sorry to tell this...) Therefore let us look at the "first 3 verses first" of THE ACTS Chapter 12:
1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.
2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.
3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

There are 4 valid reasons, I searched and found of the Spirit, defending "Easter" than "Passover" on "THE ACTS 12.4;"
The wonder of the LORD is, I was given 2 of it, and 2 more was given to the beloved faithful Fundamental Baptists! And here they are:

1. The days of unleavened bread came AFTER Passover! Acts 12:3 tells us that Peter was apprehended DURING the “days of unleavened bread.” This means that the day of Passover had ALREADY occurred. “Easter” could not have been Passover, because Passover occurs BEFORE the days of unleavened bread. Passover had come and gone. Herod decided to bring Peter forth AFTER Easter.
2. Easter, as we know it, comes from the ancient pagan festival of Astarte. Also known as Ishtar (pronounced "Easter"). This festival has always been held late in the month of April. It was, in its original form, a celebration of the earth "regenerating" itself after the winter season. The festival involved a celebration of reproduction. For this reason the common symbols of Easter festivities were the rabbit (the same symbol as "Playboy" magazine), and the egg. Both are known for their reproductive abilities. At the center of attention was Astarte, the female deity. She is known in the Bible as the "queen of heaven" (Jeremiah 7:18; 44:17-25). She is the mother of Tammuz (Ezekiel 8:14) who was also her husband! These perverted rituals would take place at sunrise on Easter morning (Ezekiel 8:13-16). From the references in Jeremiah and Ezekiel, we can see that the true Easter has never had any association with Jesus Christ.
Beloved Fundamental Baptists valid conclusion: In other words, Easter was originally a pagan festival celebrated in the spring time. When the King James Bible says “EASTER” in Acts 12:4, it is correct; when the other versions say “PASSOVER” in Acts 12:4, they are incorrect. Again, “Easter” in this passage is referring to a pagan festival. (Please see their links since they have explained it more thoroughly than "little-me" could...)
But here are those two (2) which I'd like to share in the wonder of the Faithful giver of his Spirit of truth:

Take note: Before I "consulted" and open the links of the beloved Baptists website: The Spirit of our Lord, in spirit, told me already a special detail: Herod the king (verse 1) pertained to "Easter" as the "pagan-Easter" (and not the Jewish Passover for Greek Pascha,) since he is "pagan too:" And I searched for it (if he was pagan) also and found: https://thechroniclesofncci.wordpress.com/2014/04/19/131/
4. This might sound "outrageous" for some careless, however if you think about it, using an open mind and a little broader imagination of the past (if it has to take you so for...): "Pascha" is Greek: There were many Greek scholars who translated "Greek New Testament." The Aramaic (original Old Testament scriptures,) for Greek "Pascha" is "Pischa" (or Pas-kha) and Hebrew is "Pesach." Thus Greek "Pascha" by geography, though Christian, may mean "both," depending on who is it referring to. Amen. And on this case king Herod was pagan, therefore pagan "Easter" was perfect on the King James Authorized Holy Bible, not withstanding that it is a perversion when "Passover" is used since the "Feast of the Unleavened Bread had started. Amen. Lastly for me is the "chronological factor" of the translations: "Pagan-Easter" was never in the old testament, in that "English Passover" had always been written either "Hebrew Pesach" and or "Aramaic Pischa or Pas-kha," and never "Greek Pascha:" That the blessed anointed translators of James 1 the king of Scotland, France, and Britain were "adorably specific," by the grace of the living God. Amen.
I can also imagine the translators then were fervently praying to God before they proceed every time and every moment with utmost integrity and dedication not only to the high majesty of Scotland but first to the Almighty in heaven. Amen. As it is written, they were "diligently" translating the written Word of God (most probably with fear and trembling in awe of the Holy Ghost all the way). Amen.
